Uncle Del Velasquez


Del Velasquez Will Be Missed Del Velasquez died in Park City, Utah on January 25, 2009.He was born in Bingham, Utah to Fidel and Bonita Velasquez, one of eight children. He was a hardworking businessman, who in the course of a lifetime owned and ran many grocery stores. In his younger days he was an avid golfer and loved to fish. He worked for Smiths Food and Drug for many years. Later in his life, he earned his real estate license and continued to work on new business ventures, even after being struck down buy a severe stroke. He did his best, even learning how to write with his left hand during this trying time, but was hit again with another debilitating stroke. This one proved to be more than his body could handle and in time, brought him to a halt. His courage and strength in face of adversity are to be admired. He will be missed by all of us. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Mary Rose, his three children Roni (Tony), J.B (Kira), Wendy (Steve), his grandchildren, Ashlee (Matt), Parker (Alicia), Tyler, Levi, Casey, Brody, Justine, Zach and his great-grandchildren, Max and Jack. In his last days he was visited by many members of his family and friends. Friends and family can pay their respects at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 28th at 2 p.m.
